Manufacturing Update
Hello everyone, I am very excited to present you with this week's update! Here's where we stand with manufacturing.
GravGrips
In our last update, we announced 2 adjustments needed to complete GravGrip:
Adjustment 1: GravGrip's snap-fit lid needs adjustment to properly fit.
Status: The change has been implemented but as a result, we have run into another issue. With adjustments to the lid fitment and gearing, we ran into what we believe is our last issue. The change created unwanted interference between the gears in which operate GravGrip's hydraulic system. This interference does not allow for the proper functioning of GravGrip. Pictured below displays GravGrip with a cut out to show the problem. As you can see the gears are not properly meshing. This fix will be implemented ASAP.
Adjustment 2: The balance correction feature needs a material change to create the correct tension when in use.
Status: Good to go, this feature now works flawlessly!
The good news:
Our manufacturer knows the proper adjustments needed to correct the above issue.
The adjustments have been implemented and we will be testing for proper fitment soon.
All assembly components needed for injection mold production are here. Once the gearing issue is corrected mass production will begin. Our manufacturer is capable of completing large quantities of GravGrip's per week (thousands).
Our manufacturer is 5 minutes from GravGrip's location. We will ship completed units as they come in!
As soon as this small gearing issue is corrected you will really see things move forward. This has been an unfortunate hold up, but it's part of a long process we are beginning to understand. In the end, this only means we will provide a better product.
Metal components:
Counter Weights: Complete, scheduled to arrive next week
Shaft: Received
Ball Head Bolt: Received
Bearings: Received
Other Components:
Packaging Design: We changed the design to fit GravGrip into a more secure position. Production will finish early next week.
Cell Phone Adapters: Received
Action Camera Adapters/Tripod Adapters: Arriving next week
Extension Poles
We have received 5,000 extension poles so far. Our second order of 2,000 additional poles was held up in US customs for the past 2 weeks (stressful, I've heard horror stories of deliveries taking months to clear customs), but I'm happy to say they have been released and will arrive this upcoming week via UPS (we will be sure to post to our Instagram story @gravgrip).
Hand Grips
In transit! Scheduled to arrive and clear US customs this upcoming week and ship via UPS to our location.
Note: GoPro Hero 9has released!
We have made our order and are very excited to receive this camera! We know many of our backers have done the same!! GravGrip in the tilt position paired with GoPro is a game-changer. GoPro's hypersmooth image stabilization paired with auto-leveling of GravGrip can produce gimbal-like results.
HERO 9 Black Max Lens Mod: This accessory will lock horizontal stabilization at all times! This feature paired with GravGrip in the "tilt" position is something to get excited about!
Manufacturing Conclusion
As seen above, everything is coming together. Our only know delay is to correct the meshing of the gears in GravGrip's hydraulic stabilization feature. As soon as this issue is corrected we will begin mass production and fulfillment to backers. Keep your eyes on our Kickstarter updates and join us on our manufacturing journey!
Expected Delivery
We are coming down to the wire! Very small adjustments are keeping us from starting mass production. Big obstacles have been overcome, now its time to tie up loose ends. It's hard to know exactly when this final adjustment will be complete, but it will be any day now. Once approved mass production will begin and fulfillment to backers will start! To put this into perspective: If the correction is complete next week we can expect the first orders to ship towards the end of the month. We won't start production until GravGrip is perfect, so we will not rush this process. Just know, everything is ready to go once this correction is complete!
We know many of our backers love to travel so we are here to share our friend Alex's convenient compression packing cubes! Alex's product is a previous Kickstarter success. Check it out!

Manufacturing Update
Hello everyone, sorry for the lack of an update last week. We have been extremely busy with manufacturing. With that being said, I am very excited to present to you this week's update! Here's where we stand with manufacturing.
GravGrips
I'm excited to present our production design!! As you can see, the design has slightly changed. This change was designed with the help of our manufacturing partner. We knew that enabling height adjustment of the camera mount point would allow for a greater range of camera compatibility, ease of balancing with hydraulics off, and overall ease of use. This enhancement does just that.
How to use GravGrip's new feature: Rotate the blue knob to lock or unlock the position of the camera mount point.
This design change was made during our Kickstarter campaign when GravGrip first paid its injection mold deposit. Originally we planned to implement this feature into a future GravGrip™ model, but seeing how quickly the change could be made and how willing our manufacturer was to help out, we hopped on this opportunity.
We would have loved to have shown off this design change at an earlier date, but the increasing number of GravGrip™ scams really worried us and still does. Now that our ship date is approaching we feel this is the perfect time to show our backers!
Our US manufacture has been testing our injection mold and continues to make the appropriate adjustments to produce the perfect GravGrip™. A few unexpected injection mold issues have caused some delays, but we are getting close. Things are really coming together (see below)! As each updated sample is complete, they are then tested to ensure proper functioning design.
Injection mold adjustments needed:
GravGrip's snap to fit lid needs adjustment to properly fit.
The balance correction feature needs a material change to create the correct tension when in use. A few samples work great but our manufacturer has a few ideas to improve its function.
Once all injection mold adjustments are complete, we will begin mass production. Our manufacturing partner is 5 minutes from our location. We will begin shipping out orders as they complete.
Enjoy some pictures below:
Metal components:
Counter Weights: Complete, currently in transit
Shaft: Complete, arriving this week
Ball Head Bolt: Received
Bearings: Complete, arriving this week
Other Components:
Packaging Design: Samples complete, small adjustments have been made for mass order
Cell Phone Adapters: Received
Action Camera Adapters/Tripod Adapters: Shipping air freight soon
Extension Poles
We have received 5,000 extension poles so far. 2,000 additional poles expected to arrive next week! All orders will be shipped complete with the accessories that have selected.
Hand Grips
In transit! Delivery soon
Manufacturing Conclusion
As seen above, everything is coming together. Our only known delay at this point is making the appropriate adjustments to our injection mold. As soon as the adjustments are complete we will begin mass production and fulfillment of backer orders. Keep your eyes on our Kickstarter updates and join us on our manufacturing journey!
Expected Delivery
Adjustments to our injection mold have pushed back our ship date. Our manufacture is working its best to implement the adjustments and will not begin mass production until we approve the latest sample. It's unknown exactly when these changes will be completed and approved. We are anxiously waiting and will keep everyone updated. At this point, shipping is expected to begin towards the end of September.

Manufacturing Update
Hello everyone, I'm here to give you this week's inside scoop on GravGrip™. Here's where we stand with manufacturing.
GravGrips
Our US manufacturer is nearing the completion of our injection molds. We are waiting on the arrival of 2 components before manufacturing of GravGrip's can begin; component "shaft" and component "ball head bolt." Component "ball head bolt" is a key part of GravGrip's balance correction feature. Long story short, our first batch of "ball head bolts" (Left) had defects in which would affect the performance of GravGrip.
We have addressed this issue and a batch of correct "ball head bolts" is currently being produced. Upon arrival, GravGrip manufacturing can begin.
We are hoping to have a sample production unit on hand in the coming week or two. Manufacturing will rapidly pick up at this point. GravGrip's are manufactured five minutes from our location. There is no waiting for delivery once our manufacturing run is complete. Pictures will be shared!
Here is the progress on all other components:
Metal components:
Counter Weights: Complete, preparing for shipment
Shaft: Complete, preparing for shipment
Ball Head Bolt: Complete around August 10th, express air shipment arranged
Bearings: Near complete, shipment soon
Other Components:
Packaging design is complete. Samples arrive this week. (Pictures soon)
Cell Phone Adapters: Shipped early last week
Action Camera Adapters/Tripod Adapters: Shipping air freight in ~2 weeks
Extension Poles
Our extension poles were shipped early last week and expected to arrive between the 20th-25th of August without delay. During our campaign, we exceeded our initial order of 5,000 extension poles. During our Backerkit survey, we exceeded our increased order of 7,000 extension poles. We did not expect our extension pole to be so popular! Another order has been submitted. We'll look into options on acquiring the needed units asap to meet our anticipated ship date.
Hand Grips
All hand grips are ordered and will ship this Wednesday!
Manufacturing Conclusion
August will be an exciting month for GravGrip! Production of GravGrip's will take place, extension poles and hand grips will arrive, and we will look towards fulfilling all backers in the near future. Keep your eyes on our Kickstarter updates and join us on our manufacturing journey!
Patent Approval
This is huge news!! This week, our utility patent was granted approval from the USPTO (United States Patent and Trademark Office)! GravGrip™ has been patent pending since May of 2018. Patent approval will allow GravGrip™ LLC to legally enforce knockoffs from entering the market. Know that you have a unique product looking to establish itself as a brand here to stay! You have helped turn GravGrip™ from a 3D printed concept to reality. Thank you!
Expected Delivery
During GravGrip's campaign, our expected delivery was August/September. We are happy to say we are still on pace for this time frame. With current delays (Ball head Bolt) we expect this to push us into September. Just know, we are working our best to meet our anticipated ship date. So far so good, if there are any problems we will be sure to relay to our Backers.
